Meeting, Potluck & Loom Weaving Mini-workshop

  • San Diego Botanic Garden 230 Quail Gardens Drive Encinitas, CA, 92024 United States (map)

Following our regular meeting, potluck and show and share roundtable, a mini-workshop will be held for those who want to learn the basics of loom weaving.

Participants will learn to warp a small cardboard loom. They will then weave with various yarns, jutes, natural materials, cottons, etc. to create a small 2-dimensional art-piece about 5” x 7”, or you can choose to weave a small pouch.

The loom and the warp thread will be provided along with a small assortment of some weaving materials.

Optional items to bring:  large tapestry needle and larger piece of cardboard for the loom.

There will be a small fee for those who wish to take the mini-workshop.
