We invite you to attend a reception in conjunction with the Misti Washington Gourd and Basket Guild exhibit: “There is No Creation Without Tradition” (11/12/21 - 1/5/22). The reception event is a part of the Encinitas “Art Night” and will be held at the Community Center on Saturday, December 11 from 6-9 pm. Refreshments will be served and there will be demos by members of the Guild. We also encourage Guild members to participate and/or take this opportunity to visit with fellow members and perhaps attend other Encinitas Art Night exhibits happening this same evening.

The exhibit title describes the goal of the Misti Washington Gourd and Basket Guild, to preserve, promote and perpetuate the appreciation of gourd and basket art by providing a supportive, sharing and educational environment.

Nine members of the Guild — Peggy Blessing, Polly Jacobs Giacchina, Sue Kamin, Natalie Kuhlman, Carol E Lang, Judy Robelotto, Nadine Spier, Grace Swanson, and Jennifer Tang-Limon have their artwork in the Community Center from November 12, 2021 - January 5, 2022. Some of the 27 artworks displayed are offered for sale and some are not.

The Guild exhibit is free and open to the public and made possible by the City of Encinitas Civic Art Program, encinitasca.gov/VisualArt.
