~ HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ~
Date of event:
Saturday and Sunday, May 2 & 3 from 10 am to 4pm.
Set up of booths: Friday, May 1 at 1pm. Come help if you want.
To sell your gourd and basket artwork during the Fiesta:
- Bring your gourds and baskets to the booth during set up on Friday between 1-3pm OR Saturday or Sunday any time.
- Bring your own folding chair (we will have tables).
- You will be in shade.
NOTE: You need to be in the booth selling your own work (or have a designated friend selling for you) and taking your own payments. There will not be anyone to do this for you. You are welcome both days — or parts of both or either day.
REMEMBER to pick up your artwork at the end of the event (or ask a friend).
Demonstrating:
Bring something to work on if you wish. We will not have electricity.
Be ready to talk to the public about the Guild and/or what you are working on.
There will be food for sale. Parking at the venue is free. Tell the people at check in that you are with the MWBGB booth and you will NOT need to pay the entrance fee on Saturday and Sunday. Wear a name tag if you have one.
The Fiber Arts Fiesta takes place outdoors. Most of the booths will be set up on a lawn that is often damp and uneven in places. Shoes suitable for walking and a hat are suggested.
If you have never been to the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum — you should. It is a real treat. There you can see examples of mechanical ingenuity and crafts associated with the early days of the American farm and rural community; the Weavers Barn, the Spinners Cottage, Blacksmith & Wheelwright Shop, Short Track Railroad exhibit, and the Clock & Watch Museum.
