We hope you can join us to kick off the year with our first in-person meeting at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch (450 Quail Gardens Dr. Encinitas, CA, 92024; turn onto Ecke Ranch Rd. to access driveway).
We look forward to being with you all to discuss plans for the Guild’s future and receive members’ input during the meeting. We ask that unvaccinated attendees practice social distancing and wear masks. (We will follow any CDC or facility guidelines that are in place at time of meeting.)
We’ll continue with the “bring your own lunch” practice. Following lunch and show and share time, we will hold a mini-workshop.
Carol Lang will teach a “Never-Ending Finish” technique for coiled baskets and gourds. Students will need to bring a small completed basket or a gourd with holes already drilled at the top of the gourd, along with their pine needles, threads, needles, and scissors. Date palm inflorescence would work for gourds, too.
Note that there is a small fee for this mini-workshop.
Photo is an example of the type of rim finish technique.
