General & Annual Members Meeting & Bottle Cap Fish Line Basket Mini-Workshop

  • San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch 450 Quail Gardens Drive Encinitas, CA, 92024 (map)

MEETING DATE CHANGED TO
SECOND SUNDAY: FEBRUARY 9, 2025

We hope you can join us to at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch (450 Quail Gardens Dr. Encinitas, CA, 92024; turn onto Ecke Ranch Rd. to access driveway). We meet outdoors under a covered patio, so please dress accordingly. We look forward to being with you all to find out what you’ve been up to and discuss and receive feedback on Guild activities.

To encourage as many members as possible to attend this important meeting, a door prize will be awarded to one of the lucky attendees!

In addition to a general meeting, the annual meeting of the members will be held. The agenda includes approval of the 2025 budget, election of the President and Secretary, and approval of proposed Bylaw revisions (When finalized, the proposed revisions will be emailed to members prior to the meeting and available for review at top of Members Only webpage.).

Please help YOUR Guild by volunteering for one of the two open positions for a 2-year term or nominating someone you think would be willing and able to serve (see job descriptions at bottom of page).

There will be a round-table show and share with announcements from fellow members, and the Board will share pertinent topics from the earlier Board meeting, if any. We encourage you to bring finished projects and/or your works-in-progress. Also, if you have a problem piece, there may be fellow members who can brainstorm ideas that will help you.

We’ll also enjoy visiting with each other during the potluck lunch prior to the mini-workshop. There is electricity for crockpots, but no kitchen facilities.

Following these activities, Carol Lang will lead a mini-workshop on how to make a small basket using a bottle cap and fish line. Details and photo will be posted here when available. There is a small fee for the mini-workshop.

Those of you who wish to learn more about Guild business are welcome to join the Board meeting that will take place before the Noon members’ meeting at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Museum.

For those who cannot attend the meeting in person, an email with a Zoom option will be sent to current members the week before meeting (not an option for mini-workshop portion of meeting.)

The following are the job descriptions for the open positions:

The President conducts Guild meetings and sets the agenda for Guild Board meetings. They oversee the big picture of the Guild in order to keep the leadership team on track. Good communication skills would be helpful in order to help achieve consensus on Guild priorities and activities.

The Secretary shall record all the proceedings of the meetings of the Guild; shall keep a record of all actions that require a vote in writing, by date; shall be responsible for Guild correspondence, including notification of changes to meetings to those members who cannot be contacted electronically.
