Meeting, Potluck & Woven Branch Mini-Workshop

  • San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch 450 Quail Gardens Drive Encinitas, CA, 92024 (map)

We hope you will join us at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch when we will return to our usual meeting format (450 Quail Gardens Dr. Encinitas, CA, 92024; turn onto Ecke Ranch Rd. to access driveway).

We meet outdoors under a covered patio, so please dress accordingly. We look forward to being with you all to find out what you’ve been up to and discuss and receive feedback on Guild activities.

There will be the usual roundtable show-and-share with announcements from fellow members, and the Board will share pertinent topics from the earlier Board meeting. We encourage you to bring finished projects and/or your works-in-progress. Also, if you have a problem piece, fellow members can brainstorm ideas that may help you.

We’ll also enjoy visiting with each other during the potluck lunch. There is electricity for crockpots, but no kitchen facilities.

At the mini-workshop, following the potluck, Marsha Orr will teach students the technique of weaving on a branch.  Each person’s creation will be unique. We will have twine, cord, and various yarns available, but participants should feel free to bring their own. Other things to bring include a pair of scissors, and a sturdy plastic or steel fork. Large eye plastic tapestry needles will be provided. You may not be able to completely finish your branch in the time allotted, however, we will discuss final steps. Some branches will be available for selection, or bring your own if you prefer. There is a small free for the workshop.

Those of you who wish to learn more about Guild business are welcome to join the Board meeting at 11:00am, before the Noon members’ meeting.  For those who cannot attend in person, Zoom login information will be emailed the week before the meeting [not available for mini-workshop session].
