Members and guests are welcome to join us at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch (450 Quail Gardens Dr. Encinitas, CA, 92024; turn onto Ecke Ranch Rd. to access driveway). We meet outdoors under a covered patio, so please dress accordingly. We look forward to being with you all to find out what you’ve been up to and discuss and receive feedback on Guild activities.
Continuing the format we started during at October 2023 meeting, we will eat lunch, show-and-share and hear announcements from fellow members. Also, the Board will share pertinent topics from the prior Board meeting. There is electricity for crockpots, but no kitchen facilities.
We encourage you to bring finished projects and/or your works-in-progress. Also, if you have a problem piece, there may be fellow members who can brainstorm ideas that will help you.
Following this, Carol Lang will show those interested in taking the mini-workshop how to weave a fish mobile from heavy duty watercolor paper, Pellon interfacing, or even magazine covers. You can attach the fish to a bottle cap (like in the photo) or a shell with a hole in it or a stick or piece of driftwood for the hanger.
Material for the fish weaving and cordage to hang your piece will be provided. A copy of the directions will be provided. You will need to bring scissors. Optional: You can bring your own hanger or weaving material if you like (watercolor paper, magazine cover or Pellon). There is small fee for the mini-workshop.
For those who cannot attend the meeting in person, an email with a Zoom option will be sent to current members the week before meeting (not an option for mini-workshop portion of meeting.)
You’re welcome to join the 11:00 a.m. Board meeting and a Zoom option will be available to members not able to attend in person (excludes mini-workshop).
