Begin the year with fellow members, catching up on activities in the basket and gourd world and discussing 2020 plans for the Guild. We are considering new meeting and event locations, and your input is especially welcome. Bring a potluck item, and we encourage you to bring a finished project or something you are working on to show the group and/or to share items of interest.

Carol Lang has graciously agreed to help us start the year off with a creative flair! Following the meeting and potluck, students who wish to participate in the January mini-workshop will learn the figure-8 stitching and the belly-button start techniques for their pine needle baskets. Note there is a small fee for mini-workshops..

Mini-workshop materials to bring:

• Pine needles (have about 10 clusters soaked to be flexible, the remainder dry)

• Material to stitch with, e.g., waxed linen, raffia

• Sewing needle

• Scissors

• Pliers (optional)
