Members and guests are welcome to at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum at Heritage Ranch (450 Quail Gardens Dr. Encinitas, CA, 92024; turn onto Ecke Ranch Rd. to access driveway). We look forward to being with you all to discuss plans for the Guild’s future and receive members’ input.
Following the meeting and show-and-share, and brown-bag lunch, Carol Lang and Debra Zimmerman will conduct a mini-workshop. They will show interested students how to create a translucent effect on a basket-shaped wire frame. They would like people to bring the following if you have them: scissors, wire cutters for heavy gauge wire, needle nose pliers for bending wire, old paintbrush for decoupage, weight or clip to hold tissue paper (we always have a little wind),. Also bring any special embellishments or papers you may want to attach to sculpture. There is a small fee for the mini-workshop.
For those members who cannot attend in person, a ZOOM option will be offered. However, this will be for the meeting only, not the mini-workshop. Login information will be included in the email meeting reminder.
Basket patterns from our library collection that have been scanned by Alison Hiers will be available for interested members to take at Guild meetings. As the scanning of binders full of patterns and pamphlets progresses, more of the original copies will be available to members. We plan to eventually make all the files available as PDF’s on the Members Only webpage.
We thank Alison and her husband Ron for offering to house the Guild’s book library at their home, which has allowed the Guild to move to a smaller storage unit, saving us a lot of money. Until preparations have been completed at their home, the book collection library will be out of service.
